Notes: Greve, located in the Chianti
Classico region of Italy, is a sister
city of the historic Sonoma, California.
Similarities can certainly be drawn between
the world-renown wine regions, which surround
these cities. The Favero vineyards, for
example, are tucked up in the hidden Lovall
Valley, a sub-zone located in the hills
northeast of downtown Sonoma. At an altitude
of 800 feet, the vineyards are influenced
by the dry air, steep hills, rocky terrain
and integrated agriculture (apples, plums
and olive trees), providing a comparable
landscape to the Florentine hillsides
surrounding Greve.
The
process to make this 2017 Estate Sangiovese
started at harvest with the selection
of very ripe fruit. These flavors are
still very pronounced in the bottle. In
addition, aromas of rose petals, coffee,
cedar and dark chocolate are combined
with this big, luscious fruit, spice,
and balanced oak. Food pairings range
from Charcuterie and mature cheese plates,
gourmet pizzas, beef, seasoned pork, and
zest sauces. This is not a light wine
by any means; 3-5 years of aging is recommended.
All grapes were estate grown and no commercial
pesticides used during growing season.

Notes:The Monte di Sassi red table
wine is modeled after the Italian Supertuscan
Vino Da Tavola--a blending practice
which combines the profiles of both
Chianti Classico Sangiovese with top-quality
claret varietals common in Bordeaux
(in this case Cabernet Sauvignon). In
Italy, the blend is very well known
from the Bolgheri region, an area located
in the coastal zone of Tuscany. In comparison,
Sonoma Valley's dry daytime heat and
its close proximity to the San Francisco
Bay and the Pacific Ocean, Allow these
specific grapes to flourish in a fashion
similar to those influenced by the Mediterranean
Sea.
The
2014 Monte di Sassi is the latest and
greatest Supertuscan -styled wine hand
crafted by Favero. Rich aromas of blueberry,
violet pastille, cocoa and fresh roasted
coffee beans abound. The mouthfeel is
luscious and loaded with dense flavors
of fresh blackberries, bing cherries,
and subtle earthtones. The long dry
finish works well with matured cheeses,
lamb, sausage, grilled vegetables, or
pastas with zesty red sauce. Balanced
structure provides the wine with agability
in the 3-8 year range. All grapes used
to create the Monte di Sassi are estate
grown

Notes: The 2014 Favero Cabernet
Sauvignon is a winemaker's wine! Savor

This
elegant wine was hand crafted by Favero.
All grapes used to create it were estate
grown at the Favero Vineyards in the
Mayacamas Mountains with desirable Eastern
exposure. Well-drained, Tuscan soil
produce the concentrated, structured
tannins. The Favero vineyards are tucked
